1. Accessibility requirements and applicable criteria
The requirements for digital accessibility are set out in Italian Legislative Decree No. 82 of 27 May 2022, "Implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on the accessibility requirements of products and services", which refers to the UNI EN 301549 standard for technical aspects.
Specifically, website compliance must be assessed against the criteria set out in chapters 9 "Web" and 10 "Non-web content", which refer to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level A+AA.
The four fundamental principles of digital accessibility, as expressed by WCAG 2.1, are:
● Perceptible – Content is presented in a clear and understandable manner.
● Usable – The interface is easy to navigate for all users.
● Comprehensible – Information and procedures are intuitive and easy to understand.
● Robust – The site is compatible with the most common assistive technologies.
On the basis of the aforementioned UNI EN 301549 standard, which clearly lists the 50 success criteria to be considered when verifying the accessibility of a website, technical analyses were carried out on the website's content, including both textual and non-textual information, downloadable documents and forms, and forms of two-way interaction, such as the processing of digital forms and the completion of authentication, identification and payment processes.
Areas excluded from the application
Article 1, paragraph 5 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 82/2022 states that the provisions of the decree do not apply to the following website content and mobile applications:
● pre-recorded time-based media published before 28 June 2025;
● office file formats published before 28 June 2025;
● online maps and mapping services, where essential information for navigational charts is provided in an accessible digital format;
● third-party content that is neither funded nor developed by the economic operator concerned, nor subject to its control;
● content of websites and mobile applications considered archives in the sense that they only contain content that has not been updated or revised after 28 June 2025.
2. General description of the service
This website is aimed at end consumers and provides a sales service for the Save the Duck brand, offering users the opportunity to discover, select and purchase the company's products. Besides providing the complete purchasing process, the site also allows you to subscribe to the newsletter, contact customer service, get in touch with the company, and search for physical stores.
3. Operation of the service
The site can be accessed from desktop computers, tablets and smartphones using the main web browsers currently available on the market and is available in different languages.
The website navigation is designed to be intuitive and consistent, with a main menu providing direct access to the most relevant sections.
The following is an in-depth analysis of how the main services offered by the site work:

All items added to your favourites can be viewed on the "Wishlist" page, accessible from the menu. From here, you can add them to your shopping basket or remove them.

To complete the checkout process, the user must click on the dedicated menu item at the top, proceed to the next checkout screen, enter the required information, and select a payment method. Once all the fields have been filled in, the order can be submitted and the purchase completed.

4. Compliance with accessibility requirements
Save The Duck S.p.A. has implemented solutions that make its website accessible and compatible with assistive technologies, aiming to improve its usability for all users.
After specific technical checks, a technical report was produced specifying the corrections and improvements to be made in order to meet the compliance criteria.
The features implemented for website accessibility available to users include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Compatibility with assistive technologies (e.g., NVDA, Jaws)
● Keyboard navigation
● Adequate colour contrasts
● Text alternatives for graphic and multimedia content
● Zoom and font resizing
● Subtitles for multimedia content and text transcripts
● Animation control and reduction of non-essential motion
● Forms and input fields with clear labels for easier interaction
The accessibility of web content for users who use assistive technologies, such as
screen readers, alternative keyboards or voice commands, is also supported by ARIA features, which are useful for describing the role, status and properties of user interface elements, communicating dynamic interactions (e.g., expandable menus, modals, sliders) to screen readers and supporting keyboard navigation in complex components.
To further improve accessibility and user experience, a widget (UserWay PRO) has been integrated into the website. Its use by website users is completely free of charge and improves the website's compliance with web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
UserWay PRO offers multiple features to improve website accessibility and user experience, via a dedicated panel that can be accessed by clicking on the widget icon or using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+U, as listed below.
● Screen reader: reads all page content out loud without having to install an external reader.
● Dictionary: allows you to consult dictionaries without having to leave the website. Indispensable for those with cognitive disabilities, non-native English speakers, and more.
● Larger text: allows you to increase the size of the text on the screen, offering four different levels of magnification, which makes every part of the site immediately more readable.
● Saturation: sets the colour intensity of a site to high, low or greyscale.
● Contrast: reverses the colours of a website or allows you to switch between light and dark contrast modes.
● Smart contrast: ensures that all colours on the site are fully ADA compliant, ensuring greater visibility of content.
● Highlighted links: highlights links, buttons, and other interactive and clickable elements with light colours and high contrast, making them easier to identify and aiding site usability, navigation, and overall accessibility.
● Stop animations: pauses content that moves or updates automatically and is considered a barrier to accessibility, interrupts animation and flashing content that distracts and can trigger epileptic seizures in at-risk individuals.
● Text spacing: modifies text and line spacing to improve readability for dyslexic and visually impaired users, offering three levels of adjustment for a personalised and more accessible reading experience.
● Line spacing: increases the height of the lines to ensure that all text on the page is spaced more comfortably.
● Text alignment: aligns the text on your site to the left, right, or centre to ensure a personalised and more accessible reading experience.
● Dyslexia-friendly font: The "UserWay Dyslexia Friendly" font improves readability and provides a smoother, easier reading experience for visitors with dyslexia.
● Large cursor: increases the standard cursor size by 400% so that the pointer is always visible. Enables faster and more accessible navigation through hyperlinks, tabs, and form elements.
● Suggestions: displays alternative text and ARIA labels for elements on the screen with just a simple mouse hover. The suggestions are clearly visible, high contrast and easy to read for visually impaired users with accessibility needs.
● Page structure: quickly reveals page titles, landmarks and links in a clear, structured, easily navigable and accessible manner. Assists disabled and non-disabled users in finding what they are looking for more quickly.
Besides the features that users can enable from the accessibility menu, the UserWay PRO widget is able to detect a number of non-conformities on the site and make the necessary corrections in real time, without modifying the source code but only what the browser displays on the monitor. This enables the website to be more accessible to all end users, including those who use assistive technologies.

Compliance status
The guidelines and assessment checklist prepared by AgID were used to determine the compliance status of the website. The technical verification carried out by an accessibility expert has resulted in the following status, referring to the date of drafting or updating of this policy.
This website partially complies with the requirements set out in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard due to the cases of non-conformity listed below:
● some web pages do not comply with certain requirements set out in Chapter 9 "Web" of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard
● the PDF files downloadable from the site do not comply with the requirements of Chapter 10, "Non-web documents".
In particular:
● some relationships between information and content involved in formatting are not communicated in a way that is understandable to assistive technologies;
● some visual information is not structured correctly in the code (such as lists or headings), which can compromise navigation using assistive technologies and the interpretation of content hierarchy.
This accessibility statement also considers the non-conformities corrected by the UserWay PRO widget to be resolved, as the changes made by it meet the success criteria set out in current legislation.
5. Accessibility monitoring process
Save The Duck S.p.A. has paid particular attention to the service provision process in order to ensure that it meets the requirements defined by digital accessibility regulations, also making use of the support of external consultants for the following activities:
